Visiting Tokyo's Animal Cafes
Cat cafes, where you pay by the hour to hang out with felines, have been popular in Japan for more than a decade. In recent years, new establishments have sprung up offering trendier dining companions: reptiles, hawks, rabbits, goats and—most popular of all—owls. I got to visit both a cat cafe and an owl cafe when I was in Tokyo. What's it like? The cats seem jaded and the owls look bored.
